About these reviews

This site collects first-hand reviews of independent schools in Greater Sydney.

Who can review

Parents of current students, and of students who have left. You sign in with your email and write under an alias you choose. Your email is never shown alongside your review.

Moderation

Nothing goes live automatically. A moderator reads each review and publishes it if it describes a first-hand experience and stays fair. Reviews are held back if they name individual staff or students, allege crimes or misconduct, or appear to be written by someone with a stake in the school.

You can upload a fee invoice, offer letter or school report with your review. Only moderators can open it, and it's deleted once checked. Reviews confirmed this way carry a “Verified parent” badge.

Scores

Each reviewer rates up to eight areas from 1 to 5. A review's overall score is the average of the areas they rated. A school's score in each area is the average across its published reviews, so read a school with only one or two reviews with care.

School details

Suburb, year range, gender and affiliation are listed to help you filter. Schools change: several boys' schools are moving to co-education, and fees rise each year. Check details with the school before you decide.

Independence

No school pays to be listed, can buy a better position, or can have a fair review removed.
